? He is from Iraq and I met him in 2005 in Amsterdam. It was attraction at first sight and as we got to know each other, love grew. His real name is Raqib, but I can not pronounce the Iraqi Q properly, so that’s why I call him Alan. Like me, he loves animals and is especially fond of Mini. In northern Iraq, I was welcomed by his Muslim family with open arms and a warm heart. They do not mind that I am not a Muslim and I can wear the same clothes as I do in Europe. As long as your skirts and tops are not too short, it is fine. Wearing a headscarf is not necessary.
