Description

INKTOBER 2018 NO. 11 CRUEL
I prefer to draw only cute happy animals. There is already enough cruelty in the world, so why would I want to draw more of that? But, I did made a drawing today, because it might inform people and maybe even inspire some to make the world a bit more cow-friendly  Milk, cheese and all other dairy products are not necessary for you health. And what most people do not know either is that the dairy industry is cruel. Cows only ‘give’ milk when they give birth to a calf. Cows are therefore artificially inseminated every year. After 9 months the calf is born, but also immediately taken away from the mother, so that more milk can be sold. The bull calfs are slaughtered for veal at a very young age. The mother cows are slaughtered on average at an age of 5.8 years, while cows can become around 20 years old. After 5.8 years a cow is seen as ‘used up’, because then she ‘gives’ less milk and therefore yields less money. The mother cow may even be slaughtered if she is up to 8 months pregnant. Fortunately, you do not need any dairy products and there are super delicious and healthy alternatives! Be kind to the cows, ditch dairy
