Description

INKTOBER 2018 NO. 30 JOLT
The word ‘jolt’ means something like ‘abrupt movement’. This is a jumping impala (Aepyceros melampus), member of the gazelles. I think gazelles are such beautiful elegant animals. Some people believe eating meat is similar to a lion eating a gazelle. When I still ate meat myself I thought so too. But now I think very differently and I would like to share this text with you from Colleen Patrick-Goudreau:

“Bringing animals into the world only to kill them is not part of the ‘cycle of nature.’ We artificially inseminate animals, kill them years before their natural life span is up, then justify it as ‘natural’, comparing ourselves to ‘other animals who kill to survive’. Last time I looked, lions weren’t breeding gazelles.”

Fortunately, we people have a choice; we don’t need any animal products to live a healthy and happy life.
